Autumn is the best time to visit Mid Wales and North Wales. The schools have gone back, the busyness ceased. Cool air, fading light, and wet stone. Mist softens the hills, water moves steadily. Head out into the solitude, find yourself a beach, and all will be calm, quiet and still.

If you love beautiful beaches or long walks, you’ve come to the right place. Here are a few ideas of where to go. West Wales is one of the prettiest parts of the UK, and with the West Wales Coast Path and National Trust and dedicated car parks, you’re well covered.

On days when the sky forgets its colour, I’m reminded how easily meaning slips from view.
Yet even in that greyness, something stirs—
a faint awareness that being itself hums beneath the silence.
Perhaps what we call joy isn’t an emotion at all,
but the simple recognition that we are still here, still sensing, still becoming.
